UAE Announces Extended Eid Al Fitr Holidays

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has revealed the dates and duration of the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday for 2024. According to the Ministry, the holiday will commence on Monday, April 8, 2024 (29 Ramadan 8), which corresponds to the Gregorian calendar. The holiday will conclude on April 14, 2024 (3 Shawwal), totaling seven days for the public sector.
Official Confirmation
The UAE's moon sighting committee formally confirmed the start of Eid Al Fitr 2024 on Monday, April 8. The committee, composed of astronomers, announced that Wednesday, April 10, will be the first day of the festival.
The UAE Cabinet also declared a one-week paid holiday for federal government employees from April 8 to 14, 2024. This extended break allows government employees ample time to celebrate the festival with their families and loved ones.
