What's the Difference?
Plant and animal cells are the building blocks of all living things, but they have some key differences. One of the most obvious differences is that plant cells are rigid and have a cell wall, while animal cells are not rigid and do not have a cell wall.
Similarities and Differences
Despite their differences, plant and animal cells also have some similarities. They both have a nucleus, which contains the cell's DNA. They also both have mitochondria, which are responsible for producing energy for the cell. However, plant cells have chloroplasts, which are responsible for photosynthesis, while animal cells do not.
The differences between plant and animal cells are due to the different functions that they perform. Plant cells are responsible for producing food for the plant, while animal cells are responsible for a variety of functions, including movement, reproduction, and sensation.
